#409....Orange Class ...a great video from November!

I may have posted this back in the fall, but if not, here it is again!  How young they seem and we didn't know at that time God would bless the class with three Avery, Lindsey, and Gretchen in January!

#408...Below are the goals of the kindergarten program of Downers Grove, IL

District 58 - Kindergarten Goals
1. During the kindergarten year, District 58’s program will be directed towards the physical, social and emotional development of the children. Some of the many ways these goals will be achieved are through helping the children:

• accept responsibility,
• follow directions,

• take part in group discussion and activities,
• follow general rules of the school and the room, and
• cooperate with classmates
2. Kindergarten provides an opportunity to broaden the children’s various backgrounds of experiences through the daily program that includes:

• good literature;
• dramatic activities, in which they can act out a story or imitate adult activities during play;
• music through songs, rhythms, and listening to good music;
• art through painting, drawing, clay, chalk, creative toys, and various other materials;
• science activities concerned with seasonal changes, animal life, plant life, water, health and aspects of nature that fascinate early learners;
• math activities such as counting, patterning, sorting, graphing, measuring, and    estimating;
• language activities such as learning that print is speech in a written format,  rhyming,
recognizing alphabet letters and their sounds, listening and retelling stories, expressing oneself verbally and in writing, as well as learning to love literature.

#394...Last day in the Blue Class

You're a very special person,
And we want you to know.
How we loved to be your teachers,
How fast the weeks did go!
Please come back to visit us,
As through the grades you grow,
Try hard to learn all that you can
There is so much to know!!
The one thing we tried to teach you
To last your whole life through,
Is to know and love your Jesus,
Because He'll always love you!
Hugs from Mrs. Stumpf and Mrs. Fechner

#389...Mrs. Stumpf gets to play with the Pete the Cat People!

It was a great evening last night for a number of us at Anderson's Book Shop in Downers Grove.  I was honored to be the "official page turner" for the author, Eric Litwin and artist, James Dean!

#381...The Train/Spring Rock Park Photostory

#380...Train Ride Field Trip Video!

Please let your children watch these videos also.
They absolutely love to see themselves and their friends!   Hope you all had a great day, I know we did!

A new tradition began this year and we love traditions!   When we gathered on the steps for our group photo, it only seemed right to sing a few songs.   That was so made so many happy hearts including mine!

Tonight I am listening to the weather for tomorrow ...gusty thunder storms and some possible severe/downpours...WE WERE SO BLESSED!
